speeches and position papers; and other forms of appropriate
discourse
- course syllabi, textbook suggestions, and other teaching
materials
- links to World Wide Web sites that are relevant for the study
and teaching of environmental communication
Goal 2:
The ECRC will lead discussions of important topics in the area
of environmental communication. This goal will be achieved through:
- the sponsorship of workshops, conferences, newsletters, academic
journals, and other forums
- a World Wide Web site which is maintained through support of
the School of Communication at Northern Arizona University
Goal 3:
The ECRC will foster dialogue and debate among the multiple groups
in society that produce, disseminate, report, and study environmental
communication.
- this goal emerges from the recognition that environmental
communication is relevant for educators; journalists; city,
county, state, and federal agency members; citizen groups;
environmental activists; industrial and business leaders;
recreation organizations; and various international groups
- Conferences, workshops, publications, and other activities
offered by the ECRC will seek interconnections among the
various constituencies interested in environmental communication
Goal 4:
The ECRC will encourage educators at all levels to consider the
impact and significance of environmental communication in the lives
of their students, colleagues, and community members.
- The various activities supported by ECRC will be planned, presented,
and disseminated with the intent to share with teachers and
students
in elementary, secondary, and college settings
