Requirements for Participation
in the
Summer 2009 Research Internships in
Social, Developmental, Health, and Cognitive Neuroscience Psychology
June 1 through August 8, 2009

Eligibility

Admission to the summer program is competitive, with only 6-8 students accepted per year. Students who will graduate from their undergraduate institution before or at the end of the Spring 2009 term are not eligible; only students who are continuing as undergraduates through Summer 2009 should apply. The National Science Foundation also requires that participants be United States citizens or permanent residents of the United States or its possessions.

Students from undergraduate institutions which have limited opportunities for research are encouraged to apply. We also encourage applications from groups that are traditionally under-represented in the psychological sciences, including ethnic and racial minorities.
  1. You must be a U.S. citizen or a legal resident of the U.S.
  2. Complete an on-line application form*
  3. Demonstration high academic performance (provide student copy of transcripts from all colleges/universities attended; official transcripts will be requested if you are chosen for the program)*
  4. Two letters of reference from professors, advisors, or employers*
  5. A statement of your interest in doing undergraduate research in social, developmental, health, or cognitive neuroscience psychology in the context of your career goals*
  6. Proof of measles immunization*
  7. Student participants are expected to devote full-time to their research training and projects. Students are not allowed to register for additional classes or have employment during the NAU summer program.
