Community Service and Other Extracurricular Activities

Health professions school admissions committees, particularly medical and osteopathic medical school committees, look for a record that demonstrates a commitment to serving others. These activities do not all need to be health related: tutoring disadvantaged junior high students, coaching an after school sport in a low income area, or volunteering at a soup kitchen, assisting an AIDS patient are all excellent opportunities.
